Fast Facts for Local Government - June 2009

This issue of F3LG presents a comparative report on the state of the nine provinces in South Africa. Various socio-economic indicators are used to create rankings of how the provinces fare when compared to one another in the following areas: demographics, the economy, education, health, living conditions, and crime. Although the provinces face common challenges, they all have different strengths and weaknesses. Furthermore, certain common trends are apparent.
